Exotic Tasmania
In Spanish class today, I wasn't sure how far Tasmania was from mainland Australia, so in the break, my teacher looked up wikipedia and returned with a little handout for each student. Very sweet :). Also very strange having all these places I know so well reduced to brute names and facts. Oh and I let my classmates know that Glenorchy and Clarence aren't really separate cities, not really.

Not sure how old this article was or if the population has decreased but the year before last the Premier gave a prize to the 500,000 th person. It was drawn based on births and new arrivals to the state. Cool that she went to that effort to understand the state you are from :-)
